{"id":10590,"date":"2012-03-24T11:24:30","date_gmt":"2012-03-24T15:24:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/redeeminggod.com\/?p=10590"},"modified":"2012-03-28T13:34:04","modified_gmt":"2012-03-28T17:34:04","slug":"posting-your-book-on-your-blog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/redeeminggod.com\/posting-your-book-on-your-blog\/","title":{"rendered":"One Benefit to Posting Your Book on Your Blog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-10591\" title=\"Frustrated Writer\" src=\"https:\/\/redeeminggod.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/frustrated-writer.jpg\" alt=\"Frustrated Writer\" width=\"182\" height=\"160\"  \/>I was reviewing my manuscript this morning for by book-in-progress,\u00a0<em><a title=\"Close Your Church for Good\" href=\"https:\/\/redeeminggod.com\/close-your-church-for-good\/\">Close Your Church for Good<\/a>, <\/em>and was shocked to discover that somehow, somewhere, I lost about 15,000 words.<\/p>\n<p>I was not happy.<\/p>\n<p>Anger, frustration, panic, and despair better describe what I was feeling. I think I might have screamed in agony.<\/p>\n<p>But there is one good thing. 95% of what I lost has been posted in one form or another on this blog. It will probably take me a dozen hours or more to figure out what I lost, and then copy and paste it back over, reformat it, and adjust the transitions, but at least it wasn&#8217;t all <em>completely<\/em> lost. If that had happened, I probably would call it quits on this book, even though I am only two chapters from completing the rough draft.<\/p>\n<p>Any of you writers ever had this happen? How did you recover?<\/p>\n<p><em>Update: <\/em>I type the manuscript on two different computers, and to get it back and forth between the two, I send emails to myself. Thankfully, the last time I emailed it to myself was on Thursday. I went and checked my &#8220;sent emails&#8221; folder and there it was! So I only lost a few thousand words. Phew! That&#8217;s not so bad. It is possible the final few thousand words are on my other computer, which I will check later today.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was reviewing my manuscript this morning for by book, Close Your Church for Good, and was shocked to discover that I lost about 15,000 words.
