{"id":445,"date":"2013-11-29T08:00:56","date_gmt":"2013-11-29T16:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.graceground.com\/?p=445"},"modified":"2013-11-28T11:22:30","modified_gmt":"2013-11-28T19:22:30","slug":"church-of-isaiah-53","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/redeeminggod.com\/church-of-isaiah-53\/","title":{"rendered":"The Church of Isaiah 53"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-32996\" alt=\"Jesus serving - our model\" src=\"https:\/\/redeeminggod.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/jesus-serving.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"185\" srcset=\"https:\/\/redeeminggod.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/jesus-serving.jpg 200w, https:\/\/redeeminggod.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/jesus-serving-150x138.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Yesterday I mentioned Isaiah 53:1-3 in a post about <a title=\"Thank God for Models for Christ\" href=\"https:\/\/redeeminggod.com\/thank-god-for-models-for-christ\/\">Models for Christ<\/a>, and in a previous post I talked about various popular <a title=\"God\u2019s Approved Church Model\" href=\"https:\/\/redeeminggod.com\/approved-church-model\/\">church models.<\/a> It occurred to me that a good church model is found in \u00a0Isaiah 53:1-5.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the bullet points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No beauty that is desired<\/li>\n<li>It is despised and rejected by men<\/li>\n<li>Full of sorrows and acquainted with grief<\/li>\n<li>Wounded and bruised for the sins of others<\/li>\n<li>Brings healing to all<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Yes, this passage isn&#8217;t about the church. It&#8217;s about Jesus. But\u00a0as the body of Christ, we cannot do much better than take Him as our model.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than model our church after Hollywood models, let us model the church after Jesus Christ, whose name and image we bear.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Which church model is best?
