Well, Harold Camping was wrong about yesterday being the end of the world.\u00a0So guess he owes me a $1 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Also, I am here to tell you that tomorrow is the end of the world. And to help me spread the word, please send in your donations.<\/p>\n

Then, come back here tomorrow and read this post again. Keep reading it every single day, and sending in your donations every single day.<\/p>\n

And guess what? One of these days, I will be right! <\/strong><\/p>\n

In all seriousness though, here are a few suggestions on moving forward now that the world did not end:<\/p>\n

Ignore all future predictions<\/h2>\n

If you think Harold Camping was bad, just wait until you see how people respond to the end of the Mayan Calender on December 21, 2012.<\/p>\n

Do yourself a favor, and make a note of it now to ignore it and any other date setting that goes on. Completely disregard any lunatic who ever predicts the end of the world. If you just can’t ignore them, then make fun of them if you must, but leave it at that. Though a time will come when the world does in fact end, nobody knows the day or the hour, so don’t listen to anyone who claims to. Listen. We are going to go through all of this again next year in November and December.
\n<\/p>\n

Plan for the future<\/h2>\n

In the recent lunacy that resulted from Harold Camping’s outrageous predictions, I heard some crazy stories of people quitting their jobs, and selling all their stuff (or buying more stuff…I’m not sure why), all because they thought the world was ending. Living this way is foolish. So make choices and work at your job and live with you family in such a way as if you have your whole life ahead of you. Plan and prepare for not only your life, but your children’s as well.<\/p>\n

Live like the world will end tomorrow<\/h2>\n

While this point seems like a contradiction from the previous point, it isn’t. It is just a way to balance the previous point. While we can and should plan for the future, we must also recognize that life is fragile, and at some point, the world will end. It could be the next hour, the next year, or the next millennium. But since we do not know, make sure you take the time to do today what matters most. Yes, believe in Jesus for eternal life, but also, kiss your wife, hug your kids, laugh, go fishing. Enjoy each day as if it were your last. Would you really sit and watch that television show if today was your last day? If so, I hope it’s a good one!<\/p>\n

Focus on the things we do know<\/h2>\n

While there are many things about or life and our future that we do not know, there are many other things that we do know. Focus on those. Like what? Well, while we don’t know the date of the end of the world, we do know that God wants us to show love to others. So don’t read that book on the end times. Go help someone get through this time.<\/p>\n

Please know that not all Christians are wackos<\/h2>\n

Harold Camping and others like him make a bad name for Christianity, and bring shame to the name of Christ. Whether you follow Jesus or not, please accept my apology for people like him who attach themselves to the name of Jesus, and then act so outrageously. We are not all this way, and nothing about Jesus or the Bible permits such behavior.<\/p>\n

There are numerous other suggestions that could be made, and I’ll let you add yours below.<\/p>\n
