You may remember my rant from last year about Bible Study Software. I wanted something that was quick, powerful, easy to use, and didn’t have built-in expiration dates. I recommended a few programs in that post, but over the past year have found myself using only one of them: BibleWorks.
I first discovered this software about 12 years ago when I was at Denver Seminary, and I have probably used it every week since then. The base software doesn’t have some of the commentaries and popular Christians books that other software packages might have, but when it comes to doing primary research on the text of Scripture, there is no better software package available. And besides, other similar Bible Study software packages (like Logos) are over three times the price!
Over the next several weeks and months, as I continue to study Scripture and write commentary, I will make posts about the strength of this software package. To read more about this software now, click on the picture above.
Jeremy,
I use BibleWorks exclusively also. However, I recently both a MacBook. So, I now have to decide if I’m going to run BibleWorks in a Windows partition or virtual machine, or if I’m going to get new Bible study software.
But, I do love BibleWorks…

Alan,
I heard Accordance is good for a Mac…but I have never used it. I would recommend just using Bootcamp or some other emulation software to run BibleWorks.
Are u getting paid to advertise this?lol.Would like to chat on facebook sumtime when you are avilable.
Mands,
I’m not getting paid…but I did get a review copy.
But still, I have been using it for 12 years, and it is my software program of choice.
I certainly agree with you. Bible Works is a great bible study software.
Yeah, I love it.
I was a devoted Bibleworks user until my PC died and I purchased a Macbook. I bought Accordance and absolutely fell in love. I had installed Bibleworks on my Mac through a program called Wine, but compared to Accordance it just felt clunky and slow. I’m afraid that I will never be able to go back to Bibleworks after experience all that Accordance has to offer PLUS the speed and ease of use of Accordance.
Matthew,
I have heard Accordance is very nice. Sadly, I don’t have a Mac…
