Christmas Redemption

Christmas RedemptionInย Christmas Redemption,ย I admit that Christmas is a pagan holiday, and go into some of the history and origins of Christmas.

Christmas Redemption then looks at the date of Jesus’ birth and how Jesus fulfilled many of the biblical Jewish holidays in His birth, life, and ministry.

Following this, the book takes a brief look at one of the non-biblical Jewish holidays that Jesus also fulfilled, and ask the question that if Jesus could fulfill a non-biblical Jewish holiday, why can He not also fulfill any other non-biblical holiday?

I believe He can… and He does.

Christmas Redemptionย ends with looking at some of the symbolism and traditions of Christmas, including gifts, the Christmas tree, and even Santa Claus and showing how all of these can be celebrated and enjoyed by Christians as a true and accurate reflection of the Gospel.

Jesus is in the business of redemption, andย just as Jesus has redeemed you and I, He redeems the cultural elements and traditions that surround us, including pagan holidays.

Jesus has redeemed Christmas.

Christmas has a history, regardless of how someone wants to justify it. Christ did not come to redeem holidays made by man. Christmas is not a festival created by God that has become perverted by man that would then need redeeming. The symbols and traditions of Christmas came many years after Christ and each have a real meaning. I will not going into all the details but I have studied this subject objectively, considering I’m a believer in Christ. Christ crucified is an accurate reflection of the gospel not santa, lights, trees or gifts. I know many want it to be so but thats being willingly ignorant.

      Michael,
I have studied this as well, and according to all my research, most of the symbols and traditions of Christmas predate the birth of Jesus. Take trees, as an example, and look at Jeremiah 10:2-3.

Christ crucified is certainly the center of the Gospel, and in the crucifixion of Jesus, we hear God saying, “You are forgiven. You are redeemed!” And what is a human, but an odd mixture of body, soul, spirit, relationships, customs, language, culture, memories, and traditions? If God is doing to redeem humans, He must redeem the whole human package.
