The One Verse Podcast
The podcast is called the “One Verse Podcast.” In it, I am seeking to liberate Scripture from the shackles of religion, one verse at a time.
Beginning with Genesis 1:1, I plan on taking you verse by verse through the Bible to explain it from a historical-cultural perspective, and in a way that exposes how religion has forced Scripture to become its errand boy, when in reality, Scripture should be leading us away from religion and into a deeper and more intimate relationship with God.
Right now, there are five episodes published (not counting the introductory episode) and I plan on trying to publish one episode each week.
I am thrilled at the way these podcasts have been turning out. I have already learned so much, and am excited to share with you what I have learned, so that hopefully, you can teach these things to others also.
Ultimately, of course, I hope that as you listen to these podcasts, you will learn to think, look, and live more like Jesus Christ.
After you listen to the first several episodes, please consider leaving a review at iTunes as this will help other people find the Podcast as well. Thanks!

It’s about time! I love reading your blog, but I have been hoping for a podcast for a while. I listen to several on my commute, and will now add yours. Looking forward to it!

“religion has forced Scripture to become its errand boy” I love the word picture!

I saw earlier this week that you were publishing some of these, so I have already listened to the first three episodes.
I had heard before about the mythical background to the Genesis story, but it always bothered me because it made me afraid that maybe our Bible wasn’t inspired. You have renewed by hope and faith, and have shown me a completely new way to read and understand Genesis. Thank you!!!

Go Jeremy, looking forward to the dark winter nights now….

Do you have transcripts for those of us without iTunes ?
Jeremy Myers says
Eventually there will be transcripts…

Jeremy,
I was wondering how your journey through Rene Girard had gone? I had suggested that you explore that avenue sometime back (a year or so?)
Just saw your page pop up via a “like” by Jason Wiedel, author of “Persecution Complex” and it seems you’ve maybe found renewed vitality in your journeying?
Best Regards,
Mark
Jeremy Myers says
Girard has been life changing. For me, it was the “missing piece” to a way of understanding the crucifixion, the Old Testament, and many aspects of my own life that I had been searching for.
Mark Kuntz says
Yes, I know what you mean. It all turned my world right-side-up.
Be well,
Mark
Ru GoOff Goff says
THANK GOD! I love reading your writings!
Christopher says
Bah! I’m deaf. So I’ll skip the podcasts.
Jeremy Myers says
Transcripts will be coming soon…
Christopher says
Much appreciated!

Does one have to be an Apple Fan Boy to get these? Is Beyond Pod an option for those of us locked into Android?
Jeremy Myers says
You should be able to subscribe on your Android… At least, I want to make it available to you as well.
I have not used Beyond Pod, so cannot say for sure, but try the Android option listed on this page: https://redeeminggod.com/subscribe-to-podcast/ and let me know if it worked with Beyond Pod. If not, I will try to figure out a different option.
