After Nineveh experiences a city-wide revival in response to his preaching, Jonah becomes angry at God in Jonah 4:1.

Well, today, we are going to look a bit more at Jonah’s response, and come to understand that Jonah’s response is actually quite normal and natural. You and I might have had a similar response. Maybe we do.

1This was evil to Jonah, greatly evil, and he became furious.

Jonah’s reaction seems normal. His being asked to go preach in Nineveh is the equivalent of a Jewish person being asked to go preach to Nazi Germany during World War II. I think he later realized that he should have rejoiced, and that’s why he wrote his book.
