Thanks to my Book Launch Team (and an Invitation to you)

Thanks to my Book Launch Team (and an Invitation to you)

I had some people helping me promote a book this week.

As you may or may not know, I started a publishing company almost two years ago, and as part of the process of publishing and marketing books, I wanted to create a “Book Launch” strategy so that the authors whose books we publish could get a good start on helping people learn about their book.

But before I used this Book Launch strategy on one of the books from the various authors we have published, I wanted to experiment with it using one of my own books first. So I chose Why You Have Not Committed the Unforgivable Sin and recruited ten people to help me spread the word about this book.

Of the ten who agreed to get a free book and help me spread the word about this book, here are the six who actually followed through (Thanks!):

  • Brandon Chase
  • Michael Wilson
  • Stan Stinson
  • Tony Vance
  • Bob Bedford
  • Jake Yaniak

Each member of this book launch team has a blog. Just click on their names to go check out their own writings. They all write fantastic stuff.

book launch authors

This Book Launch team helped me out this past week with this first Book Launch. They provided some insights and suggestions for changing future book launches, but for the most part, I think the Book Launch strategy is good to go.

I definitely need to tweak some things with the process, and so the next several launches will be somewhat different than the one I just finished.

Anyway, I am now accepting applications for future book launches. I need to replace the four who dropped out, and maybe a few more as well.  I have four books ready to go now, and two more (hopefully) by the end of the year.

The next book I want to launch is a book called What to Expect from the Holy Spirit by Dr. Earl Radmacher. I want to launch this in LESS THAN TWO WEEKS!!!

If you want to learn more, just visit my Book Launch Team info page. See you there!

The 1 Commandment

The 1 Commandment

Did you know that about a year ago I started my own publishing company? I have learned quite a bit about publishing books over the last 10 years or so, and wanted to make some of my experience available to others so that they also could get their books published. I am currently working with four different authors to get their books into print this year. I am extremely excited about all of these books.

Anyway, the very first book we have published is now available! It is The 1 Commandment by Maxine Armstrong. Here is the cover:

The 1 Commandment

Maxine ArmstrongIn this book, Maxine tackles the difficult issue of the believer’s relationship with the 10 Commandments. She persuasively shows how Jesus set aside the Old Covenant with its rules and regulations and gave us a New Covenant based on the one command to love one another.

Most interesting of all is how Maxine develops her argument based on the theme of covenants and inheritance in Scripture, relating them to a “Last Will and Testament.”

This book clearly sheds new light and new significance on what Jesus accomplished for us, and also includes some helpful insights on how to hear the Holy Spirit as heirs of the New Covenant.

There are lots of great things Maxine writes in this book, but here are two of my favorite quotes:

Many Christians are taught to try to rein in sin and sin less. On the surface, this sounds great, but it couldn’t be more wrong. Jesus is not impressed with behavior modification. Less sin does not equal more righteousness (115).

The hellfire-and-brimstone preachers wonder why so many fall away after evangelistic campaigns in which a God of hellfire and anger is preached. Perhaps the answer lies in the God they are preaching. God is not angry at us. God loves us. What kind of disconnected God would He be if He couldn’t decide whether He is so angry at me for sinning that He must send me to hell, or that He loves me so much He is willing to die for me? (130).

After only a couple days, the book is doing well at Amazon. As you can see from the stats below, it currently sits at #24 on the Amazon Best Seller’s list in the category of Discipleship.

  • Amazon Best Sellers Rank in Kindle Store (See Top 100 Paid in Kindle Store)
    • #24 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Nonfiction > Religion & Spirituality > Christianity > Christian Living > Discipleship
    • #93 in Books > Christian Books & Bibles > Ministry & Evangelism > Discipleship

Obviously, Maxine would love to see this hit the top 10 or even #1! So if this book sounds like something that might be helpful for, feel free to purchase a copy at Amazon, or from the Redeeming Press webstore.

This little book promises to make big waves in your theology. If you read it, let me know what you think!

Publish your Book with Redeeming Press

Publish your Book with Redeeming Press

Get publishedWant to get your book published? Do you have a manuscript and are seeking a publisher, or are thinking of writing a book, but don’t know where to begin?

Let me introduce you to Redeeming Press!

Redeeming Press is publishing the way it was meant to be. It is publishing with generosity and grace. It is publishing that focuses on the author rather than on profits.

Almost exactly one year ago, I decided to start a publishing company.

I saw then, and am even more convinced now, that the publishing industry was rapidly changing, and that most publishing companies in the world were not properly adapting to these changes. In fact, most of the publishing companies were actively fighting against and trying to hinder the changes!

So I started brainstorming about how a publishing company could operate which would take advantage of some of the publishing methods in a way that would:

  1. Allow new and undiscovered authors to get published
  2. Allow books to get into print more quickly
  3. Allow authors to receive a larger royalty payment than normal

After several months of brainstorming, talking with others in the publishing industry, doing hundreds of research on publishing methods, and reading dozens of books about publishing, I ended up with a process for book publishing which accomplished all three of my goals.

Benefits of Redeeming Press

PUblishing at Redeeming PressThrough my brainstorming, I think I found a way to “redeem the press,” that is, to remove some of the negative elements of the publishing industry, and add in some elements and principles of the Kingdom of God, specifically, elements of truth, generosity, and grace.

  1. While most publishing companies want authors who have a big “platform,” Redeeming Press primarily cares about big ideas. If you have a book which presents truth in a fresh way, we might be interested in publishing it.
  2. While most publishing companies take a year or more to get your book into print, we can get your book into print within a few months.
  3. While most publishing companies pay their authors 10% royalties, we created a payment structure that allowed authors to make 30% royalty payments on their book (and even up to 45% in certain circumstances).
