DON’T Share this if you Love Jesus!

DON’T Share this if you Love Jesus!

For some reason, my Facebook feed is absolutely cluttered with post after post after post where people have some dumb image with a message that says something like this:

Share this post if you love Jesus!

or

Want to be blessed? Leave a comment that says “Yes!”

or

Don’t be ashamed of the Gospel. Tell others about Jesus by sharing this post!

or

Want an answer to prayer? Type “I claim the blood of Jesus” in the comments.

So I laughed so hard when I saw this image today:

bless Jesus on Facebook

Anyway, here is my response to these sorts of Facebook posts:

  1. STOP IT!
  2. This is why non-Christians roll their eyes at Christians and think we’re idiots.
  3. I am now unfriending every person who leaves a post like this on Facebook.

Someone is Wrong on Facebook

Someone is Wrong on Facebook

To be clear … I AM MAKING FUN OF MYSELF HERE. The following comic strip is ME from last Sunday night.

Hat tip goes to Richard Jacobson. Check out his blog and follow him on Twitter.

wrong on facebook

On Sundays, I sometimes like to post a light-hearted little comic strip that I found humorous. Last week I posted a comic strip I thought was both light-hearted and insightful. Some people thought it was neither …

In my opinion, people completely misunderstood what I had posted and why. But whatever. Such is life on the internet, where everybody is wrong except me…

Ever wonder what evangelism victims are thinking as you drone on about sin and hell?

Ever wonder what evangelism victims are thinking as you drone on about sin and hell?

A while back I wrote about how confrontational evangelism turns way more people away from Jesus than toward Him. Below is a Facebook account of exactly what I was talking about.

I get Depressed on Facebook

I get Depressed on Facebook

I used to think it was just me. Then my wife got a Facebook account, and she complained of it too. Then I saw the little comic below, and realized that maybe it is a common occurrence.

facebook life

When I get onto Facebook, it seems that everybody else’s life is full of vacations, parties, promotions, happy children, perfect marriages, and people who are “happy happy happy all the time.”

Since my life isn’t like that at all, I stopped getting on Facebook. It was too depressing.

So if you want to “Like” me on Facebook, I promise not to tell you how grand my life is. You will mostly just get updates about my blog. If you haven’t already, please “Like” me below!

This post is part of the March Synchroblog. It is on the subject of “New Life” and while I thought about writing something serious and theological, I decided to do this more “lighthearted” post. Why? Laughter and humor should central aspects of our new life in Christ. I am generally pretty serious, but am learning to loosen up and laugh more in life.
