For some reason, my Facebook feed is absolutely cluttered with post after post after post where people have some dumb image with a message that says something like this:
Share this post if you love Jesus!
or
Want to be blessed? Leave a comment that says “Yes!”
or
Don’t be ashamed of the Gospel. Tell others about Jesus by sharing this post!
or
Want an answer to prayer? Type “I claim the blood of Jesus” in the comments.
So I laughed so hard when I saw this image today:

Anyway, here is my response to these sorts of Facebook posts:
- STOP IT!
- This is whyย non-Christians roll their eyes at Christians and think we’re idiots.
- I am now unfriending every person who leaves a post like this on Facebook.

Though you may not realize it, I am a “missionary” to hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Every month, about 250,000 people read articles from my website, and a large percentage of those people are from Africa and Asia. In North America and Europe, a large percentage of the people who read my site are High School and College students.

This time of year I see article after article from Christians about why it is sinful to decorate Christmas trees, wrap presents, and sing โDeck the Halls.โ

What should such a person do? Should they try to redeem their thoughts? Should they try to brainwash themselves into feeling love? Or is it enough to just keep the promises, stay faithful, and serve with ongoing love, support, and care, despite the absence of all feelings?
